It sounds crazy! Wall shelves made from Rubber Bands.  It’s formal name is S T R E T C H Shelf, designed by Pete Oyler and is slated to hit specialty boutiques soon at $120.00 price point.

This shelving design uses one large rubber band and various pegs that you can arrange on your walls to suite your personal style and taste.   Screw the pegs into the wall and stretch the rubber band around the pegs and VOILA! You’ve got yourself a very innovative and creative shelving solution that can be used on any wall you desire.

The S T R E T C H Shelf makes use of aluminum constructed pegs and a cast rubber band.  Create unlimited shelving designs with S T R E T C H.  You are limited only to your imagination.  The super thick, very large bands can be stretched out to about ten inches, making it ideal to design your own shelves on the walls.

The simple shelf solution is ideal for play rooms, kids rooms, nurseries, bathrooms and anywhere really.  The rubber band serves as a good insulation against accidents.  Think about the times that kids are prone to injury, from bumping their heads against the edge of a wooden shelf that might be sticking out too far or just through rough play.
